Introduction:

Dear Friends,

I am running to be your Republican State Party Chair and I am asking for your support. But more importantly, I am asking you to share a new vision and a strong urgency for our Party.

While this year’s election was a deep disappointment, we have an opportunity and a responsibility to draw sharp contrasts between our time proven principles against the radical leftist agenda, and must begin the process of earning back the leadership of this state.

I know there are others running for leadership of the party, but the big question is, how long will it take for them to develop the people and talent in every county?

I have been constantly “on the ground“ in this state for the past 2 years and in the 2nd District for the last 16 years and have personally established a network of supporters and workers in every county. Our race for Governor invested $5 million in developing a base message that the State GOP can build on even further for 2020. We have built a great organization and we are going to keep it going.

Looking at the raw numbers, I received more votes, with a total of nearly 300,000, than the winning candidate received to be elected Governor in 2014. Many people across New Mexico, like those who voted for me this November, understand how our ideas are better for improving the lives of hard-working families in New Mexico. This provides me with a strong base of “new friends” that I can build on for the party.

The new party chairman must communicate constantly. I am a seasoned communicator. I know all the key people in the TV stations, all the radio stations across the state and am well acquainted with those in the print media. Under my leadership the state party will be visible and audible throughout the state in a way not seen before.

No one else in the party at this moment has a skillset of campaign and business experience, the grit, the network of committed volunteers that I have assembled over the past years in Congress and in this race. No one at this moment has been to more towns and villages that I have been in, or developed the relationships in every county that I have or has the networks that I do. I know and work well with leaders in all cultures; Hispanic, Native American, African-American, Asian and Middle Eastern.

Anyone else who might be elected as State Party Chair will start at ground zero and need years to travel to the places that I have been and organized over the last 16 years.

One of the most powerful elements of our campaign is the number of millennials who bought into our vision for the state. We are going to recruit more of them and put them in key positions in the party as we move forward. Our young charges have developed the ability to campaign under fire. You can’t buy that kind of experience.

My campaigning has also revealed to me that we have pushed our most loyal party workers for too long with no help. Many have hit a wall and do not believe we will ever give them relief or recruit younger leaders to take over. We are going to recruit new, younger, and talented people to support our seasoned veterans. We will continue to rely on the experienced people that have kept the party working for years but we must also develop new processes like communicating via Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. We will create a strong social media presence and develop apps for mobile devices that can send instant messages to thousands of core party organizers, messengers and activists.

We will also establish special task forces within the state party to focus on ensuring the integrity of our elections, and to hold the Democrats accountable for the way they will govern over the next two years. Our elections must be lawful, and the voters must understand the consequences of the policies pushed by the Democrats. With your help we will accomplish both those goals.

Under my leadership, the state party will also effectively and professionally carry out the fundamental responsibilities of the party. We will raise money, recruit winning candidates, be a customer-focused organization, provide support to each of the 33 County Parties and work alongside them as partners in this effort. We will always operate with the understanding that we work for you – not the other way around.

Each of us is blessed by God with this rare opportunity to live in this wonderful country at this remarkable moment in history. You and I have fought tenaciously for this state and we must defend the hard-fought victories of previous leaders and be smart about strategically finding ways to advance our values and make our great nation even stronger. That is why I am running to be your state party chair, and why I am asking for your support.

My commitment is that as your party chair, I will work hard every day, will work with honesty and integrity and will keep my respect for you in my heart every day as we prepare for victory in 2020. Our State needs us now more than ever.

Introduction:

Change Build Win

Change the leadership and approach.
Build the Party.
Win elections.

Two of the last three chairman were picked by Steve Pearce and Harvey Yates.

I am not their pick. I am my own voice. As Chairman I will work with and encourage as many volunteers as I can.

We need to have an organized effort to grow the activists in our party. There currently are about 600 activists for the 380,000 Republicans in the state. There were about 8,000 at the last Trump rally. We have an opportunity to build our party with that enthusiasm.

We need to recruit now for school board up through US Congress.

We will form teams to: recruit, educate, recognize members, help with organization, fund raising, voter-registration-integrity-get out the vote, Youth, activist reply, and data base.

I want to work with all of you.

I am a businessman/mechanical engineer with a team of 100 mostly in Albuquerque. We are in the top ten best places to work. I have worked with the party for about 10 years. My wife and I have 5 grown children and 5 grand children. I am known for turning around weak organizations.

I will turn around the Republican Party of New Mexico.

Introduction:

Dear State Central Committee Member,
After careful thought, consultation with Republicans from throughout the State, and much prayer, I have decided to run for Republican State Party First Vice Chair. I humbly ask for your vote and support.
Serving as Chair of the Bernalillo County Republican Party, it became clear outside Radical Progressive Groups (The DNC) want to control not only government in New Mexico but the heart and souls of every New Mexican. To compete with this on slot of out-of-state political interests, our local county party fought back! We engaged in an aggressive canvassing program making approximately 15,000 personal contacts, delivered over approximately 25,000 Republican State and Republican Judicial candidate door hangers and engaged over 700 individual volunteers during an eighteen-week time frame. We instituted an absentee vote chase initiative, mailing approximately 10,000 post cards, followed by approximately 25,000 automated phone calls. Lastly, we bought radio ads in support of our legislative candidates, reaching over half the State’s population. Clearly, this effort fell short, however, WE FOUGHT BACK! We took the battle to the streets, the airwaves and the doorsteps of our friends, family and neighbors. This type of effort is what I will bring to the state party. I pledge I will never ask anyone to do anything I personally will not do myself and will always stand shoulder to shoulder with our volunteers and candidates.
What is painfully obvious from the November elections is that the Party needs a new team of leaders with the vision, dedication and grit to prepare for victory in 2020 and beyond. We must not only engage in serious and honest self-reflection, but also recognize New Mexico is a much different State than it was just ten years ago. As such, it is imperative that we utilize every means of communication to grow our party: word of mouth, radio, television, Twitter,
Facebook and Instagram. We need to recruit a broader more diverse base and include them in
leadership roles moving forward. It is time to set aside any and all infighting and unite behind the
basic principles of the Republican Party.
My commitment as your First Vice Chair is to work with every volunteer, candidate and
officer from every part of the State as we prepare for 2020 and beyond.
Sincerely,
Robert Aragon

Introduction:

Dear State Central Committee Member –

Today I am making a move to help unite our party and move us forward. I have the greatest respect for Congressman Steve Pearce and I want to thank him for running to be our next Chairman. In an effort to come together and build the party to achieve victory in 2020, I am going to run for First Vice Chair of the Republican Party of New Mexico.

There is work to be done and I am ready to take on the fight, side-by-side with our next Chairman. I will continue to support our county parties, you the elected members of the State Central Committee, and of course our dedicated candidates in 2020.

We will work every day for the next two years to develop the grassroots army needed to take on the progressives. We will overcome the challenges that presented themselves to us this year. We will be victorious if we unite and work towards the common goal – electing Republicans up and down the ballot.
I ask for your support as I seek another term as your First Vice Chair and as always, my door is open and I am here to serve.

Introduction:

Thank you for considering me for 2nd Vice Chair. I have been a New Mexico resident for over 12 years. One great attribute of this state is the young population. There is an energy and excitement that they have and desire for change. I share their hopes for New Mexico. As 2nd Vice Chair, my goal is to encourage younger Republicans' participation in the party and increase awareness that the cornerstone of American values is most solidly reflected through Republican polices and initiatives. My work as an attorney, chair on non-profits, advisement on commercial development and role as a mother reflect these viewpoints and will enhance my role as 2nd Vice Chair. Thank you, again, for considering me.

Introduction:

My name is Kelly Zunie and I am running for Second Vice Chair of the State Republican Party. Taking on this position will allow me to utilize my skills in educating young people, business owners, and minorities who share our conservative values. There is much at stake in New Mexico, including the freedoms that rely on our understanding the timeless principles and platform of the Republican party.

We have a solid platform to stand on, but it is being forgotten by the changing social and political landscape in our state. As your Second Vice Chair I plan to work with our County Chairs to rebuild our state party, elect Republicans, and put our state on the right path.

It is in my nature to get things done and as such, I plan to accomplish the following:

1-Actively work with the State Chair to implement a plan to re-establish the State Republican Party as the dominant party in New Mexico
2-Visit and work with County chairs to bring new Republicans into our party
3-Organize Civics Workshops to young people/business owners/minorities
4-Work within communities to cultivate interest in our Republican values.
And much, much more

With this in mind, I humbly ask your consideration and hope to earn your support.

Sincerely,
